4K HD Webcam

Model 8826 Fixed Focus. A 12-megapixel webcam with built-in beauty fill light, USB plug-and-play connectivity, and support for 4K, 2K and 1080P output at 30FPS. Built for live streaming, video calls, home office setups and content creation.

  • 12MP sensor · up to 4K / 2K / 1080P output
  • Built-in beauty fill light — no separate ring light needed
  • USB plug & play — no drivers on Windows 10
  • 30FPS · 1.5m cable · macOS & Linux compatible
Setup and getting started
  • Plug the USB cable into any USB-A port — recognised immediately on Windows 10 without drivers. On macOS (10.13+) and Linux, connects as a standard UVC device without additional drivers.
  • If your computer has only USB-C ports, you’ll need a USB-A to USB-C adapter or hub. Not included.
  • Position the camera on top of your monitor using the clip mount, or on a flat surface angled towards you. Eye-level positioning gives the most natural perspective — a camera significantly below eye level is unflattering in most conditions.
  • Select the camera in your video call or streaming software (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS) from the camera input dropdown. If it doesn’t appear, unplug, replug, and refresh the device list.
  • Toggle the beauty fill light on or off as needed — works best in dimly lit rooms. In a well-lit room with a window or softbox facing you, it may not be needed.
  • To select a specific resolution (4K, 2K or 1080P), change the output in your software’s camera settings — the camera outputs all supported resolutions and lets the software select from them.
Getting the best image quality
  • Lighting — the single biggest factor in webcam quality. Face a window or soft light source for the best result. A light source behind you (backlit) will cause the camera to expose for the background and leave your face dark. The fill light compensates for poor ambient lighting but can’t fully replace a good facing light source.
  • Resolution — select based on platform and bandwidth. Most video call platforms (Zoom, Meet, Teams) cap at 1080P — set the output to 1080P in this case to reduce bandwidth usage. 4K is most useful for local OBS recording. 2K is a good middle option for streaming where 4K upload bandwidth is unavailable.
  • Fill light — most effective at 50–80cm from the camera. At distances beyond 1m the effect diminishes and ambient lighting becomes the dominant factor.
  • Camera position — at eye level or slightly above is most flattering. A camera below eye level looking up emphasises the chin and shows ceiling rather than background.
  • Lens cleanliness — a fixed-focus lens with accumulated finger oil or dust will produce softer images regardless of resolution. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth before important calls.
Compatibility, platforms and limitations
  • Windows 10 — confirmed plug-and-play, no drivers required. Windows 11 also supports UVC devices natively and is expected to work.
  • macOS — natively supported on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and later. Recognised automatically in Zoom, FaceTime, Teams and OBS. If not recognised, check System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Camera and ensure the application has camera permission.
  • Linux — most modern distributions (Ubuntu 20.04+, Fedora, Debian) support USB UVC webcams natively. Should appear as /dev/video0 and work with VLC, OBS, Cheese and most video call applications.
  • Platform resolution limits — Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams cap video at 1080P for most accounts. 4K output is most useful for local recording. Sending 4K to a platform capped at 1080P does not improve the output.
  • No built-in microphone — pair with a dedicated USB microphone, headset or laptop microphone for audio.
  • USB-C ports — the camera uses USB-A. An adapter is required for computers with only USB-C ports. Not included.
Confirmed plug-and-play on Windows 10. macOS and Linux compatibility is via USB UVC standard — expected to work on modern OS versions but not confirmed in the manufacturer’s specification. Verify with the manufacturer if confirmed cross-platform support is required before purchase.
Care and maintenance
  • Clean the lens with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid touching the lens with fingers — skin oils create a film that reduces sharpness. Do not use tissue paper or clothing fabric, both of which can scratch the lens coating.
  • Do not apply liquid cleaners directly to the lens. If needed, breathe lightly on the lens to create minimal condensation and wipe immediately with a clean microfibre cloth.
  • Keep the USB cable tidy and avoid sharp bends near the USB-A connector — the most common point of failure in USB peripherals.
  • Store in a dust-free environment when not in use — a soft pouch or the original packaging keeps the lens protected.
  • Do not cover the fill light area with tape or material when in use — the LEDs generate low heat but covering them causes heat build-up over extended use.
