MagSafe Ring Holder

Device compatibility
- iPhone — compatible with all MagSafe-enabled models (iPhone 12 and later). The ring attaches magnetically to the MagSafe array on the back of the iPhone, aligning precisely without manual centering. Works with MagSafe cases in place. Does not work with non-MagSafe cases (standard silicone, leather or plastic cases without a MagSafe magnet array).
- MacBook — attaches to the MacBook lid via the ring bracket magnets. Useful as a handle when carrying the MacBook open or partially open, and as a prop when using the MacBook at a shallow angle. The magnetic attachment is positional rather than locked — secure for handling but not for use as a tripod mount under load.
- Camera — attaches to compatible camera bodies where the surface allows magnetic adhesion. Most useful as a grip or wrist strap anchor when shooting one-handed. Check that the camera body surface is clean and flat at the intended attachment point — curved or textured surfaces reduce magnetic contact area and holding strength.
- Non-Apple and non-MagSafe devices — the ring bracket can be used with any device or case that has a MagSafe-compatible or Qi2 magnet array. It will not attach magnetically to standard non-MagSafe devices without a MagSafe adapter plate added first.
This ring holder attaches via MagSafe magnetism — it is not an adhesive product. If the device does not have MagSafe, a MagSafe adapter sticker applied to the device back will enable attachment.
Using the ring — grip, stand and mount
- Finger grip — loop one or two fingers through the ring with the phone held in the palm. The ring sits between the index and middle finger for a natural one-handed hold that keeps the phone secure without gripping the edges.
- Kickstand — extend the ring away from the phone body until it contacts the desk surface and acts as a prop, holding the phone at a viewing angle for hands-free video calls, content viewing and reading.
- MacBook handle — attach the ring to the MacBook lid and use as a one-handed carry grip when moving between desks or rooms. The magnetic hold is sufficient for occasional handling; do not use as a sole grip when carrying the MacBook at significant height over hard floors.
- Removing the ring — pull the ring holder away from the device with a direct pull perpendicular to the surface. Do not lever or twist the ring off at an angle — repeated angled removal can stress the zinc alloy hinge connection over time.
Colour guide
- White — the lighter and more visible option. Works well against black or dark-coloured iPhone cases and provides clear visual contrast. Best suited to White, silver or light-coloured iPhone and MacBook setups. Shows fingerprints more readily than Black — a consideration for high-contact daily use.
- Black — the more discreet and lower-maintenance option. Blends with black iPhone cases, Space Black and Space Grey MacBook finishes and most camera body colours. Fingerprints and daily wear are less visible than on White. The default recommendation for anyone using a dark-coloured device setup or who prefers the accessory to recede into the device.
Care and longevity
- Wipe the ring holder periodically with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints, dust and oils. Do not use chemical cleaners, alcohol wipes or abrasive cloths on the PC or zinc alloy surfaces — these can strip the surface finish and accelerate visible wear on the coating.
- The zinc alloy hinge is the component under the most mechanical stress in daily use. Avoid dropping the ring holder onto hard surfaces — a drop landing on the hinge point may develop looseness in the ring rotation.
- The magnetic strength will not diminish with normal use. Avoid prolonged contact with strong opposing magnets (large speaker magnets, industrial magnets) which can partially demagnetise small consumer magnets over extended exposure.
- Store flat in a pocket or bag when not in use. Do not store with heavy objects pressing directly on the ring mechanism — sustained lateral pressure on the extended ring can loosen hinge friction over time.
