A conventional boiler or combination boiler delivers hot water only after the stored volume has reached temperature and the flow has purged the cold water sitting in the pipe between the boiler and the tap — a wait that ranges from a few seconds to over a minute depending on the distance and pipe diameter. The instant faucet removes that wait entirely by heating the water at the point of use, which means the first drop from the tap is as hot as every subsequent drop. The built-in temperature display shows the current water temperature in real time, allowing the output to be set precisely for the task at hand. - The instant hot water tap is designed to replace a standard single-hole kitchen or utility sink faucet. Before purchasing, confirm that the sink has a compatible hole size and that the existing plumbing connections are accessible beneath the sink for connection to the cold water supply.
- The tap connects to the cold water supply only — it does not require a hot water supply pipe because it heats the water internally at the point of use. This simplifies installation compared to a conventional hot and cold mixer tap.
- Electrical connection is required to power the 3000W heating element. The tap must be connected to a dedicated switched fused spur with an appropriate amperage rating for a 3000W appliance. Do not connect to a standard socket outlet via a plug adapter.

- With shower attachment: adds a flexible handheld head on a hose for rinsing larger items, washing pets, cleaning produce, or any task that benefits from directing the water stream rather than relying on the fixed spout position. Choose this if the sink serves a wider range of tasks beyond standard washing up.
- The temperature display shows the current output water temperature in real time. The display updates as the temperature changes, allowing the flow rate and temperature setting to be adjusted until the display shows the target temperature.
- For washing up, a temperature between 45°C and 55°C is effective for cutting grease and removing food residue. Temperatures above 60°C can cause discomfort on bare skin — use gloves or reduce the temperature for extended contact tasks.
- For rinsing delicate items or produce, a temperature between 30°C and 40°C avoids heat damage while still being warmer than cold water. The display allows this range to be hit consistently rather than estimated.
- For filling a washing machine, dishwasher pre-rinse, or any task with a specific temperature requirement, use the display to set and hold the target temperature rather than adjusting by feel.
- In hard water areas, limescale will accumulate on the internal heating element and on the tap spout or shower head over time. Descale the tap every 3–6 months depending on water hardness — use a food-safe descaling solution or a diluted white vinegar solution circulated through the tap according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Clean the exterior of the tap with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that will scratch the surface finish.
- Check the water inlet filter periodically for debris and rinse it clean if flow rate reduces noticeably. A blocked inlet filter is one of the most common causes of reduced performance in point-of-use heaters.
- If the temperature display shows an error or the tap fails to heat water, check that the electrical connection is live and that the fuse or circuit breaker has not tripped. Do not attempt to open the unit or inspect the heating element without isolating the electrical supply first.
