01 Line-Following Sensor — Draw a Line, Watch It Come to Life

Road recognition sensor technology means the toy follows any line you draw — on paper, card or any flat surface. Draw a straight line, a curve, a loop, or a full circuit and watch it trace every mark without hesitation. An endlessly replayable concept that sparks curiosity from the very first run and keeps children genuinely engaged long after the novelty of a typical toy has worn off.

02 Built-In LED Lights — As Fun to Watch as It Is to Play With

LED lights illuminate as the toy moves, adding a visual layer that makes every run more exciting to watch. In a dimmed room the effect is especially striking — a small character tracing a glowing path along whatever track a child has drawn. The kind of detail that makes the toy more satisfying to show to others and more rewarding to play with repeatedly.

03 5 Character Designs — Penguin & Robot, Five Colours to Choose From

Penguin Blue, Penguin Black, Robot Orange, Robot Blue and Robot Yellow — five distinct characters with enough variety that every child can choose their favourite rather than accept a default. The character distinction also makes the toy easier to gift with confidence: choose based on the child's preference and the design they're most likely to feel is theirs, not just a random toy.

04 Engaging & Educational — A Toy That Combines Play with Discovery

The line-following concept introduces children to basic cause-and-effect thinking in a hands-on, tangible way — draw a path, observe the result, adjust and try again. The kind of toy that encourages experimentation naturally, without feeling like a lesson. Suitable for children aged 7 to 14 and engaging across that full range, from first-time users discovering what it does to older children designing increasingly complex tracks.

In the Box1 × Line-Following Sensor Robot & Penguin Toy
  • Draw a line on a piece of paper or card using a dark marker or pen — a thick, solid black line gives the best results.
  • Place the toy at the start of the line and switch it on. The sensor on the underside detects the line and the toy begins to follow it automatically.
  • Draw straight lines, curves, loops or complete circuits — the toy will trace whatever path you create.
  • Experiment with different track shapes to see how the toy responds. Tighter curves and sharper turns will affect how it navigates.
  • Switch off when not in use to preserve battery life.
A dark marker on white or light-coloured paper gives the clearest line for the sensor to follow. Avoid very light or reflective surfaces.
  • Penguin Blue — a bright, cheerful blue penguin character. A natural first choice for penguin fans and younger children drawn to the character design.
  • Penguin Black — a classic, more understated penguin in black. Slightly more grown-up in feel while keeping the same loveable character.
  • Robot Orange — a bold, eye-catching robot in orange. Strong visual appeal for children who prefer the mechanical robot aesthetic over the animal character.
  • Robot Blue — a cooler-toned robot design. Works well alongside Penguin Blue if buying as a pair or for siblings.
  • Robot Yellow — the brightest and most visually striking of the robot designs. A confident choice for children who like bold, stand-out colours.
All five designs use the same line-following sensor technology and LED light function — the only difference is the character and colour.
  • Birthdays and Christmas: an engaging, tech-adjacent toy that feels more considered than a standard gift — interactive, replayable, and different from what most children already have.
  • For curious and creative children: children who enjoy experimenting, building, designing or discovering how things work will get particular satisfaction from drawing their own tracks and testing different layouts.
  • For ages 7 to 14: the age range is wide enough to suit a broad group of recipients, and the concept holds up across the full range — younger children enjoy the novelty, older children enjoy the design challenge.
  • Multiple children: with five designs available, buying one each for siblings or a group of friends ensures every child gets their own character.
Compact and lightweight — easy to wrap, post, or include in a gift bag without additional packaging.
  • Recommended for children aged 7 and above. The line-following concept and battery operation are best suited to children who can follow basic instructions and operate the on/off switch independently.
  • Not suitable for very young children — contains small parts and requires batteries.
  • Adult supervision is recommended when setting up and using batteries for the first time.
  • Use on a flat, stable surface. Do not use on uneven ground or near edges where the toy could fall.
  • Batteries are not included — check the required battery type before gifting to ensure the toy can be used immediately on arrival.
Check the packaging for the specific battery requirement before purchasing, so the recipient can use the toy straight away.
Draw it. Watch it. Play it again.

“Draw the line — and watch a small character come to life and follow it, every single time.”
