25 Foam Stepping Stones — The Floor Becomes Lava
25 coloured foam safety stones are laid across the floor to create the lava field. Players spin the spinner to find their colour, then leap and balance across the stones to reach it without letting a foot touch the floor — the physical element that gets children moving and keeps every player genuinely engaged rather than waiting for their turn to end. The foam is soft enough to be safe indoors, firm enough to land on confidently.

- Scatter the 25 foam stepping stones randomly across the floor in the play area — spread them far enough apart to require a leap or stretch to reach the next one, but close enough that the youngest player can make the jump.
- The first player spins the colour spinner. Whatever colour the spinner lands on is the colour stone they must leap to next — if that stone is far away, the leap is the challenge.
- Players must travel from stone to stone without touching the floor — any player who touches the floor returns to the start and the turn passes to the next player.
- When a player reaches their target stone, they draw a challenge card and complete the challenge before the next spin — challenges include physical tasks like touching your toes while balancing, swapping stones with another player, or spinning again for a bonus move.
- The first player to reach a designated finish stone — or the last player still on the stones without touching the floor — wins the round.
- The game can be adapted freely for different group sizes, ages, and available space — adjust stone spacing, starting positions, or add house rules to suit the group playing.
For younger players, reduce the spacing between stones and allow jumping with two feet. For more challenge with older players or adults, increase spacing and add bonus forfeit rules for challenge card failures.
