Use a ceiling hook rated to at least 200 kg for indoor installations — a swivel hook is recommended to allow the chair to rotate freely without putting torsional stress on the mounting point or twisting the suspension rope over time.
Suspension hardware (hook, carabiner, or rope) is not included — source hardware to suit your specific ceiling or outdoor mounting point. Stainless steel or galvanised fittings are recommended for outdoor installations.
Test the installation by applying your full body weight gradually before sitting fully into the chair — check for any movement, sound, or deflection from the mounting point before relying on it for regular use.
Hang at a height that allows comfortable entry and exit from a standing position — typically with the seat base at knee to hip height when the chair is unoccupied.

Cotton rope is suitable for outdoor use in dry and mild conditions — bring the chair indoors or store in a covered location during prolonged rain, damp weather, or winter months to preserve the fabric and prevent mildew developing in the woven fibres.
