  • Requires a sturdy ceiling anchor point rated to at least the child’s weight plus a safety margin — use a ceiling joist, beam, or a dedicated swing frame rather than plasterboard or drywall alone.
  • Use a suitable carabiner or swing hook (sold separately) rated to well above the 200kg max load for additional safety margin.
  • Hang the hammock at a height that allows the child to enter and exit safely without assistance — typically so the base sits at seat height when the child stands beside it.
  • Check the anchor point and all fixings before each use, especially after a period of heavy use or if the hammock has been repositioned.
  • Machine washable on a gentle, cool cycle — check the care label before washing as material composition can affect wash temperature.
  • Air dry only — do not tumble dry, as heat can weaken the fabric and reduce load-bearing integrity over time.
  • Inspect the fabric, stitching, and any hanging loops or reinforced edges regularly for signs of wear, fraying, or damage before each use.
  • Remove from the anchor point when not in use for extended periods to reduce unnecessary strain on the material and fixings.
