01No Calibration Required — Ready Straight Away

The M02 requires no manual calibration or code entry before testing — the step that causes the most errors and the most frustration for elderly users and those unfamiliar with glucometers. Insert a strip, apply a sample, and read the result. The process is as straightforward as it should be, removing the barrier that prevents consistent daily testing for users who find calibration confusing or unreliable.

02Large Screen — Results That Are Easy to Read

The large display shows blood glucose readings in a clear, high-contrast format that is easy to read without leaning in, squinting, or reaching for reading glasses — the screen size that makes the difference for elderly users and anyone whose eyesight makes small-display meters impractical for daily use. The reading is visible at a glance, which matters when testing multiple times a day.

03Painless Testing — Designed for Daily Use

The painless testing mechanism minimises discomfort at the fingertip — the feature that determines whether a user tests as often as recommended or avoids testing because the process is unpleasant. For pregnant women monitoring gestational diabetes and elderly users with daily testing routines, this is the detail that sustains compliance and makes home monitoring a practice rather than an occasional check.

04Precise Home Measurement — Reliable Results Without a Clinic

The M02 delivers precise blood glucose readings at home, giving users and their carers the data needed to manage diet, medication, and lifestyle between clinical appointments. The accuracy makes home monitoring a genuine supplement to professional care rather than an approximation — results that can be tracked over time, shared with a GP, and used to make informed day-to-day decisions about food and activity.

  • Wash and dry your hands before testing — residue from food or lotion on the fingertip can affect the accuracy of the reading.
  • Insert a compatible test strip into the meter. The M02 does not require code entry or calibration — it is ready to test once the strip is inserted.
  • Use the lancing device to prick the side of a fingertip. The side of the fingertip is less sensitive than the pad and produces a more comfortable result.
  • Apply a small blood sample to the end of the test strip. The meter will draw the sample in automatically once contact is made.
  • Wait for the reading to appear on the screen — results typically display within a few seconds.
  • Record the result if you are tracking your levels over time. Many users keep a log to share with their GP or midwife at appointments.
Test strips are not included and must be purchased separately. Ensure you use strips that are compatible with the Superbio M02 (Item No. G421) to ensure accurate results.
  • Pregnant women: gestational diabetes requires regular blood glucose monitoring throughout pregnancy. The painless testing mechanism and large screen make the M02 practical for multiple daily tests over an extended period.
  • Elderly users: the no-calibration setup and large high-contrast screen remove the two most common barriers to independent blood glucose monitoring for older adults — setup complexity and readability.
  • Anyone managing blood sugar at home: whether monitoring pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or tracking the impact of diet and lifestyle on blood glucose levels, the M02 provides reliable daily readings without requiring a clinic visit.
  • Carers: the straightforward operation means that a carer can administer the test on behalf of someone who is unable to do so independently, without specialist training or equipment.
  • Keep the meter dry and away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures — store it in the case provided when not in use.
  • Clean the exterior with a slightly damp cloth if needed. Do not submerge the meter in water or spray cleaning products directly onto it.
  • Check the battery level regularly — low battery can affect reading accuracy. Replace the battery promptly when the low battery indicator appears.
  • Store test strips in their original sealed container in a cool, dry location. Do not use strips that are past their expiry date — expired strips can produce inaccurate readings.
  • Do not share the lancing device or lancets between users — a new lancet should be used for each test for hygiene reasons.
  • Blood glucose is measured in millimoles per litre (mmol/L) in the UK. A typical fasting blood glucose level for a non-diabetic adult is between 4.0 and 5.9 mmol/L.
  • For pregnant women, target blood glucose levels are set by a midwife or specialist and may differ from general adult targets — follow the guidance provided by your healthcare team.
  • A single reading in isolation is less useful than a pattern of readings over time — track results across different times of day (fasting, after meals, before bed) to give your GP or midwife a complete picture.
  • If a reading is unexpectedly high or low, repeat the test before acting on the result — a single abnormal reading may be caused by a sampling error rather than a genuine change in blood glucose.
This device is for home monitoring only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult your GP, midwife, or diabetes specialist for guidance on interpreting your results and adjusting treatment or diet.
