Silver ion cotton — conductive, breathable, comfortable for all-night use

Silver ion cotton provides natural electrical conductivity that enables grounding — silver ions woven into the cotton fibre create a conductive surface that, when connected to an earthed socket via the ground wire, allows the body to discharge and reconnect to the earth’s natural electrical reference. Unlike metallic sheets or foil-based grounding products, silver ion cotton sleeps like a quality cotton sheet: breathable, soft, and comfortable for all-night skin contact. The conductivity is maintained through repeated washing when cared for correctly.

Grounding during sleep — passive, habitual, no routine change required

Earthing (grounding) reconnects the body to the earth’s natural electrical field — a connection that modern indoor living, insulating footwear, and synthetic materials interrupt for most of the day. Sleeping on a grounding sheet is the most habitual and passive form of earthing practice: it requires no change to routine, no dedicated time, and no effort. You sleep as normal; the sheet maintains the earth connection throughout the night. The ground wire connects to the earth port of a standard UK three-pin socket, providing the same electrical reference as barefoot contact with the ground outdoors.

If between sizes, choose the larger — grounding works by skin contact, and a sheet that fits correctly and stays in place provides more consistent contact than one that has to be stretched or tucked excessively.

Place the sheet on the bed with the conductive surface facing up, in contact with the body during sleep. It can be used as a flat sheet placed directly on the mattress or on top of a fitted sheet.
Attach the ground wire to the snap connector on the sheet, then insert the earth plug end into the earth port of a standard UK earthed three-pin socket (the round bottom hole). Do not insert into the live or neutral ports.
Verify the socket is earthed before first use — use a simple plug-in socket tester (available at most hardware shops). Most permanent UK wall sockets are earthed; extension leads and older installations vary.
Sleep directly on the sheet with bare skin in contact with the surface — skin contact is required for grounding to occur. Thin cotton clothing reduces but does not eliminate conductivity; direct skin contact is most effective.
The sheet can also be used as a floor grounding mat during the day — sit or lie on it with bare skin contact during reading, meditation, or rest. Connect the ground wire in the same way as for bed use.
Note: a ground wire is not listed in the “In the Box” specification for this product. If a ground wire is not included, a standard earthing ground wire (with snap connector on one end and earth plug on the other) is available separately from most earthing product suppliers and fits the standard snap connector used on grounding sheets.

Machine wash on a cool or warm cycle (30–40°C) — avoid hot washes, which degrade silver ion fibres and reduce conductivity over time.
Use a mild, fragrance-free detergent without bleach, fabric softener, or optical brighteners — fabric softener is the most damaging product for silver ion conductivity, as it coats the fibres and insulates them. This is the single most important care instruction for maintaining grounding performance long-term.
Do not tumble dry on high heat — air dry or use a low heat setting. High heat damages silver ion fibres in the same way as hot washing.
Do not iron — direct high heat from an iron applied to the silver ion fibre can cause permanent damage to the conductive material.
Wash before first use to remove any manufacturing residue and to soften the cotton base — this gives you a baseline feel for the sheet before regular use begins.
Reduced grounding effectiveness over time is almost always caused by fabric softener or detergent build-up on the silver ion fibres rather than the fibres wearing out. If you notice reduced effectiveness, try washing on a longer cycle with no detergent to strip any build-up before resuming regular care.
