01Negative Ion Technology — Continuous Active Purification While You Drive

The negative ion generator runs continuously from switch-on, releasing ions into the cabin air throughout the journey. In the confined air volume of a car interior, the ion concentration achievable from a compact device is substantially higher than in a domestic room of comparable power draw, which means the air freshening and particle-settling effect is meaningfully stronger in a car cabin than in a room context. Negative ions bond with airborne particles — dust, allergens, bacteria, odour molecules from food and occupants, and fine particulate matter drawn in through the car’s ventilation system — causing them to aggregate and settle rather than remain suspended in the breathing zone. The continuous operation throughout a journey means the cabin air quality improves progressively as the journey proceeds, and the combination of ion emission with the composite filter addresses two distinct contamination mechanisms simultaneously: the ions treat the ambient cabin air volume while the filter captures particles physically drawn through the unit. 02Composite Filter — PM2.5, Formaldehyde & Airborne Bacteria

The composite filter addresses three distinct categories of indoor car air pollutant that a standard negative ion generator alone does not capture as a physical medium. PM2.5 refers to fine particulate matter at 2.5 microns or below — the particle size range associated with road traffic pollution, brake dust, tyre wear particles, and combustion byproducts that enter the cabin through ventilation and accumulate in the closed interior over the course of a journey and over the lifetime of the vehicle. These particles are clinically associated with respiratory and cardiovascular health effects at sustained exposure levels and are the primary air quality concern for urban drivers and daily commuters. Formaldehyde is a volatile organic compound released by off-gassing from vehicle interior materials — dashboards, carpets, headlining, seat foam, and adhesives — particularly in newer vehicles or vehicles with recently installed components. Activated carbon in the composite filter medium adsorbs formaldehyde molecules from the air drawn through the unit, reducing the ambient formaldehyde concentration in the cabin. Airborne bacteria in a car cabin are generated by occupants and introduced from outside air; the filter medium physically captures biological particles at the filter, reducing the recirculated bacterial load in the cabin air.

  • Connect the purifier to your car’s 12V socket (cigarette lighter socket) using the included cable. In most modern vehicles the 12V socket is live when the ignition is on; check whether your vehicle’s socket remains live with the ignition off before leaving the unit plugged in unattended.
  • Touch the control surface once to switch the unit on. The indicator light confirms active operation. The ion generator and composite filter begin working immediately from switch-on.
  • Position the purifier so its air outlet faces into the cabin air volume rather than toward a surface. Cup holder positioning typically provides good central cabin airflow; dashboard or console positioning may direct output toward the windscreen rather than across the cabin.
  • For the first use in a new vehicle or after a period of non-use, run the purifier at full output for 30–60 minutes to establish a baseline clean cabin air state before reducing to normal operation.
  • Touch the control surface again to switch off at the end of the journey. Unplug if the socket remains powered with ignition off to avoid unnecessary battery drain.
Do not block the air intake or outlet while the unit is operating. Reduced airflow lowers purification effectiveness and may cause the unit to overheat during extended use.
  • Replace the composite filter every 3–6 months under normal daily-commute use. In urban environments with high PM2.5 levels, or in vehicles that regularly carry pets or smokers, replace more frequently — every 2–3 months.
  • Signs the filter needs replacement: reduced airflow output from the unit, increased cabin odour after running the purifier, or visible particle accumulation and discolouration on the filter surface when inspected.
  • To replace: switch off and unplug the unit, open the filter housing per the included instructions, remove the used filter, insert a compatible replacement filter, and reassemble the housing. Do not operate the unit without a filter installed.
  • Do not wash the composite filter — the filtration media degrade when wet and will not return to their rated capture efficiency after drying. Always replace with a fresh compatible filter.
The activated carbon layer in the composite filter that captures formaldehyde has a finite adsorption capacity. A filter that has reached its formaldehyde capacity may still appear visually clean — replace on schedule rather than by appearance alone.

Car cabins concentrate airborne pollutants more than most indoor environments because they are small, sealed air volumes in close proximity to traffic pollution sources.

Cabin temperatures above 25°C — common in parked cars in summer and in heated cabin environments — significantly accelerate off-gassing rates from plastics, carpets, and adhesives. The activated carbon layer in the composite filter adsorbs formaldehyde molecules continuously during operation.
  • Closed cabin vs ventilated cabin: running the car in recirculation mode reduces the introduction of external PM2.5 from traffic but allows internal pollutants (occupant-generated CO₂, formaldehyde off-gassing, biological particles) to accumulate. The purifier maintains filtration effectiveness in both ventilation modes, addressing external particle ingress in fresh-air mode and internal accumulation in recirculation mode.
  • Wipe the exterior with a dry or lightly damp cloth to remove dust and surface marks. Do not use cleaning sprays or solvents on the touch control surface, air grille, or cable connection.
  • Clean the ion emitter tip monthly with a dry cotton swab to remove accumulated particulate. A clean emitter tip maintains optimal ion output; a dust-coated tip reduces emission effectiveness over time.
  • Store the purifier out of direct sunlight when the car is unattended for extended periods — dashboard storage in a hot parked car can expose the unit to temperatures that degrade plastic components and the filter medium.
  • Inspect the cable and connection periodically for damage, particularly if the cable is routed across a door sill or under a mat. A damaged cable should be replaced rather than continued in use.
