01Rust Conversion — Neutralises Rust Chemically at the Source

The conversion agent reacts chemically with iron oxide (rust) on contact, converting it into a stable compound that stops the corrosion process from continuing beneath the surface. Unlike sanding or grinding, which removes rust mechanically but leaves the underlying metal exposed, conversion treats rust in place — the approach that is more practical on curved surfaces, pitted areas, and anywhere that abrasive tools cannot reach cleanly.

02Anti-Rust Priming — Creates a Paintable Surface After Treatment

After the conversion reaction completes, the treated surface forms a stable primer layer that is compatible with standard metal paints, topcoats, and sealants. This means the conversion step and the priming step happen in a single application — reducing the number of products needed and the time between treating rust and applying a protective topcoat, which matters because bare metal exposed between treatments can begin re-oxidising quickly in wet or humid conditions.

03Versatile Use — Car Bodywork, Fixtures, and General Metal

The agent works on any ferrous metal surface where rust has formed — car bodywork panels, sills, and wheel arches; garden gates, railings, and fences; metal furniture; tools; radiators; and structural fixings. The 100g size is suited to spot repairs and targeted treatment of specific rusted areas rather than full-surface treatment of large structures, making it practical for home, garage, and DIY use without committing to a large-volume industrial product.

04Brush Included — Open the Pack and Start Treating

A brush applicator is included in both pack options, so no separate tool is needed to begin treatment. The brush allows the agent to be worked into pitted or textured rust surfaces for better contact between the conversion chemistry and the iron oxide — a flat sponge or cloth applicator is less effective on deeply pitted rust because it sits on top of the surface rather than reaching into the texture where corrosion is most active.

  • Remove loose rust, flaking paint, and surface debris using a wire brush or coarse sandpaper before applying — the conversion agent works on active rust but not on loose scale sitting on top of the surface.
  • Clean the area with a dry cloth to remove dust and any oil or grease contamination. Degrease with white spirit or brake cleaner if the surface is oily.
  • Apply the conversion agent directly to the rusted area using the included brush, working it into any pitting or texture in the rust surface.
  • Allow to react for the time specified on the product label (typically 15–30 minutes) — the surface will change colour as the conversion reaction takes place.
  • Once dry and fully converted, the surface is ready for painting or sealing with a compatible metal topcoat or primer.
  • For heavily rusted areas, a second application may improve results — allow the first coat to dry fully before reapplying.
Work in a well-ventilated area. Wear gloves and avoid contact with skin. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on surfaces above 35°C — high temperatures accelerate drying and can reduce the effectiveness of the conversion reaction.
  • Car bodywork spot repairs: treat rust on sills, wheel arches, door edges, and underbody areas before applying filler or body paint. Particularly useful for small rust bubbles caught early before they spread.
  • Garden gates, railings, and fences: treat rusted joints, welds, and scratched areas on painted metalwork before repainting — prevents rust returning under the new paint layer.
  • Metal furniture and fixtures: treat rusted legs, brackets, or hardware on outdoor furniture, shelving, and fixings before repainting or sealing.
  • Tools and equipment: spot-treat rust on tool heads, blades, and metal equipment surfaces — follow with a protective oil or wax to prevent re-oxidation in storage.
  • Structural fixings: treat rusted bolt heads, brackets, and metal plates on outbuildings, fences, and garden structures before repainting.
  • 100g + Brush: standard pack in plain packaging. Ideal for home and garage use where presentation is not a consideration. Same product and quantity as the boxed option.
  • 100g + Brush (Boxed): the same product in retail box packaging. Better suited as a gift, for workshop storage where labelling matters, or if you prefer the boxed format for shelf storage.
Both packs contain identical product — 100g of rust conversion agent and one brush applicator. The only difference is packaging.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area — outdoors or with open windows and a fan if working indoors in a garage or workshop.
  • Wear chemical-resistant gloves during application. Avoid skin contact and wash hands thoroughly after use.
  • Keep away from children and pets during use and until the treated surface is fully dry.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the lid tightly closed between uses to prevent the product from drying out in the container.
  • Do not dispose of unused product down the drain — follow local authority guidelines for disposal of chemical products.
