  • Download the app: install the companion app on your smartphone before setting up the camera. Follow the in-app instructions to create an account and connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Position the camera: place the camera in the room where your pet spends most of their time — ideally at a height that gives a wide view of the space. A shelf, bookcase, or dedicated mount works well.
  • Connect to power: plug the USB cable into any USB port or USB wall adapter. No dedicated power brick is required.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi: ensure your router broadcasts on 2.4GHz. The camera connects directly to your router — no hub or bridge device is required.
  • Enable pet mode: press the one-click pet mode button to optimise the camera settings for pet monitoring. AI tracking activates automatically and will follow your pet as they move.
Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as the camera during initial setup. Switching to a 5GHz network temporarily can cause connection errors during pairing.
  • Live view: watch a real-time HD feed from the camera from anywhere with an internet connection — at work, on the go, or in another room.
  • Motion alerts: receive push notifications when the camera detects movement, so you’re alerted to activity without needing to watch the live feed continuously.
  • Dual screen: if you have multiple cameras, the dual screen mode lets you view two feeds simultaneously side by side.
  • Clip recording: save short video clips of activity directly to your phone or cloud storage, depending on app settings.
  • Two-way audio (if supported): speak to your pet through the camera’s speaker and hear them through the microphone — check your specific model for this feature.
  • Height: place the camera at 1 to 1.5 metres above floor level for the best field of view for most pets. Too high and the camera looks down at a steep angle; too low and furniture obstructs the view.
  • Lighting: avoid positioning the camera directly facing a window. Backlighting from a bright window makes pets appear as silhouettes and reduces image clarity significantly.
  • Room coverage: the AI tracking pans to follow your pet, but it still has a mechanical limit to its rotation range. For large open rooms, a central position gives the widest effective coverage.
  • Cable management: route the USB cable along a wall or behind furniture to keep it tidy and out of reach of pets that might chew on cables.
Cats in particular are drawn to camera cables. Secure the cable against a wall or use cable clips to prevent access — both for cable longevity and for your pet’s safety.
  • Multiple pets: AI tracking follows the most prominent detected subject in frame. In homes with multiple pets, the camera will generally track whichever animal is most active or closest to the camera at a given time.
  • Privacy: the camera is intended for indoor home use. Avoid positioning it where it captures areas beyond your own property. Check local regulations if you are unsure about indoor camera use in shared dwellings.
