01Universal IR Learning — Works With Any Infrared Device

The infrared transmitter learns the signal codes of any IR-controlled device — air conditioners, televisions, set-top boxes, fans, projectors, and more — and stores them for one-tap control from the app. Compatible with virtually any brand or model that uses an infrared remote without requiring a specific database entry or manufacturer support. If the original remote uses IR, this controller can learn it and replace it.

The WiFi connection allows the controller to be operated from the Tuya Smart app on any smartphone, from anywhere with an internet connection. The air conditioner switched on before arriving home, the television turned off after leaving the room, any connected device controlled without needing to be in the same room or the same building. Download the Tuya Smart app (available on iOS and Android) and create an account or log in if you already have one.
Plug the WiFi IR Remote into a power source and follow the in-app pairing instructions to connect it to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
Once paired, add each IR device you want to control: select the device type (AC, TV, etc.), point the original remote at the controller, and follow the IR learning prompts. The controller stores the learned signals.
Assign each learned device a name in the app for easy identification — for example, “Living Room AC” or “Bedroom TV”.
Control all paired devices from the Tuya Smart app dashboard on your phone, from any location with an internet connection.

Requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. 5 GHz networks are not supported. If your router broadcasts both frequencies under the same name, connect your phone to the 2.4 GHz band during setup.

Air conditioners: compatible with split-system, portable, and window air conditioners from any brand that uses an infrared remote. The IR learning function works regardless of brand or model age.
Televisions: compatible with any IR-controlled television. Most TVs manufactured before 2020 use IR remotes; some newer smart TVs use Bluetooth or RF instead — these are not compatible with an IR controller.
Set-top boxes and media players: compatible with any IR-controlled set-top box, satellite receiver, or media player.
Fans and air purifiers: compatible with any IR-controlled fan or air purifier.
Projectors: compatible with any IR-controlled projector.
Not compatible with: devices that use RF (radio frequency) remotes, Bluetooth remotes, or no remote at all. If unsure, check whether the original remote uses infrared — IR remotes have a small LED at the front that flashes when a button is pressed.

Create automation routines in the Tuya Smart app — for example, schedule the air conditioner to turn on at a set time each day, or trigger it based on the state of another Tuya device (such as when a smart sensor detects occupancy).
Compatible with voice assistants via the Tuya platform — check the Tuya Smart app for current supported assistants and linking instructions.
Use the Tuya Smart app to group multiple devices and control them together from a single tap or routine.
The controller works as part of a wider Tuya smart home setup alongside other Tuya-platform devices — thermostats, sensors, lights, and plugs — managed from the same app dashboard.

Automation features require an active internet connection. Local control without internet is not available on this model.

IR learning: the controller contains an infrared receiver that captures the signal codes transmitted by an existing IR remote when pointed at it. These codes are stored in the device’s memory and associated with the device in the Tuya Smart app.
IR transmission: when a command is sent from the app, the controller transmits the corresponding IR signal in the direction of the target device — the same signal the original remote would send. The target device responds as it would to the original remote.
WiFi bridge: the WiFi connection links the controller to the Tuya Smart cloud, allowing app commands sent from anywhere in the world to reach the controller and be converted into IR signals at the device’s location.
Line of sight: infrared signals require an unobstructed path between the controller and the target device. Position the controller so it has a clear line of sight to the IR receiver on each appliance it controls.
