Choose a position that receives direct sunlight for most of the day — ideally south-facing and unshaded between 10am and 3pm. Shade from trees, fences, or overhangs during peak sun hours will reduce the charge and shorten the nightly run time significantly.
Push the ground stake firmly and vertically into soft, moist soil. Avoid pushing into dry, compacted, or stony ground, which can crack or bend the stake. Loosen the soil first with a hand fork if needed.
Position the solar panel face upward and angled toward the sky, not obscured by surrounding plants or mulch. The panel surface should be clear of debris, overhanging foliage, or other objects that block direct sunlight.
For path lighting, place lights at equal intervals on one or both sides of the path — the 2-pack allows symmetrical placement on both sides of a single entrance or gate. For borders, stagger placement slightly inward from the bed edge so the stake sits in soft soil rather than on paving or gravel.
The lights can be repositioned at any time — pull the stake out of the ground, move to the new position, and push back in. No tools required.

Cool white produces a bright, blue-toned daylight light — the better choice for path marking, step visibility, and security-adjacent applications where clear illumination matters more than ambience.
Warm white produces a softer, amber-toned glow that suits decorative border lighting, planting highlights, and relaxed evening garden use where the visual warmth of the light is part of the effect.
Both variants are sold in 2-packs. If lighting a longer path or multiple borders, order multiple packs and mix warm white in planted areas with cool white on the path itself for a layered, intentional effect.
LED solar garden lights at this power level are ambient and decorative — they mark and define garden spaces effectively in low-light conditions. They are not floodlights and are not designed to illuminate large open areas brightly.

Allow the lights to charge for a full day of direct sun on first use before expecting a full night’s runtime. The internal battery may have partially discharged during storage and transit.
6–8 hours of direct sunlight provides a full charge and typically delivers 8–12 hours of light output, depending on the LED brightness setting and overnight temperature. Shorter winter days will reduce both charge and runtime.
If the light switches off earlier in the night than expected, the battery has not received a full charge. Move the light to a sunnier position or check whether shade is covering the panel during peak hours.
In overcast or heavily overcast conditions, partial charging will occur but full-night runtime is not guaranteed. This is normal for all solar lighting and not a product fault.
Do not cover the solar panel or store the light indoors for extended periods — the battery benefits from regular charge cycles. If storing over winter, recharge by placing in a sunny window periodically.

In the UK and Northern Europe, solar garden lights perform best from April through September when day length and sun angle provide reliable charging. Winter performance will be reduced.

Wipe the solar panel surface with a soft damp cloth periodically — dust, bird droppings, pollen, and water deposits on the panel surface reduce charging efficiency over time. A clean panel charges faster and more fully than a dirty one.
Wipe the light housing with a damp cloth to remove soil, mud, and debris. Do not use abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners on the plastic housing or the panel surface.
The lights are designed for outdoor use and are weather-resistant. They do not require removal during rain. However, during prolonged periods of hard frost or ice, consider bringing the lights indoors to protect the battery from deep-cold discharge.
Do not submerge the light in water or pressure-wash it. The housing is splash-resistant, not waterproof to submersion.
Check the stake and housing connection periodically if repositioning frequently. The joint between the stake and the light head should remain firm — if it becomes loose, press together firmly before reinserting.
