01Scratch Removal — Reduces Light Scratches and Swirl Marks

The abrasive compound in the formula cuts lightly across the paint surface, levelling micro-scratches and swirl marks by removing a very thin layer of clear coat to bring the surrounding paint level with the bottom of the scratch. This makes light surface scratches less visible or invisible without repainting — the result that matters for the fine scratches from automatic car washes, light key marks, and road debris that accumulate on paint over time and make a car look older than it is.

02Stain Removal — Clears Surface Contamination and Oxidation

Surface staining on car paint comes from bird droppings, tree sap, industrial fallout, and the oxidation of clear coat that happens through UV exposure over time. Oxidation turns a previously glossy finish chalky or dull and cannot be removed by washing alone — it requires an abrasive polish to cut back the oxidised surface layer. The formula addresses both contamination and oxidation in the same application, removing the layer of surface damage that makes paint look faded before the protective wax step seals it.

03Polish & Gloss — Restores Depth and Clarity to Dull Paint

After the abrasive stage removes surface damage, the polishing chemistry in the formula smooths and refines the paint surface to restore the gloss and depth that dull or scratched paint loses. The difference between polished and unpolished paint on the same car is significant under direct light — polished paint reflects light cleanly and shows depth in the colour, while unpolished paint scatters light and appears flat. The polishing step is what makes the paint look genuinely restored rather than just cleaned.

04Paint Protection — Seals the Finish After Polishing

The wax component seals the paint surface after polishing, creating a protective barrier between the clear coat and environmental contaminants — water, UV radiation, traffic film, and bird droppings. A protected paint surface is easier to clean on subsequent washes because contaminants sit on the wax layer rather than bonding to the paint, and the gloss lasts longer between treatments because the surface is sealed rather than open. Polishing without sealing leaves the paint exposed and the results fade faster.

In the Box1 × 120ml Car Scratch Wax Paint Protection & Polish
  • Wash and dry the car thoroughly before applying — polishing over a dirty surface will drag grit across the paint and cause additional scratching.
  • Work in a shaded area or indoors — avoid direct sunlight and hot panel temperatures, which cause the product to dry too quickly and make buffing difficult.
  • Apply a small amount of product to a clean microfibre applicator pad or soft cloth.
  • Work the product into the paint using small circular motions, covering an area of approximately 30 × 30cm at a time — working in sections gives better control and more consistent results than trying to polish a large panel in one pass.
  • Allow the product to haze slightly (typically 1–2 minutes depending on temperature) then buff off with a clean, dry microfibre cloth using light pressure in circular motions.
  • Turn the cloth frequently to ensure a clean buffing surface — a loaded cloth redeposits product residue rather than removing it.
  • Repeat across the full panel or targeted area, then move to the next section.
For best results on scratched areas, apply with slightly more pressure during the working stage to allow the abrasive to cut into the scratch, then reduce pressure during the polishing and buffing stage. Do not apply to matte or satin paint finishes — abrasive compounds alter the surface texture of non-gloss finishes.
  • Light surface scratches: scratches that are visible but cannot be felt clearly with a fingernail — these are within the clear coat layer and respond well to abrasive polishing.
  • Swirl marks: fine circular scratches typically caused by automatic car washes, incorrect washing technique, or dry wiping. Very effectively treated with polish.
  • Water spot etching: light surface etching from hard water deposits that has not penetrated through the clear coat.
  • Light oxidation: surface chalking or dulling from UV exposure on older or sun-damaged paintwork.
Not suitable for: deep scratches where the base colour coat is visible, scratches that penetrate to primer or bare metal, or paint chips. These require touch-up paint or professional body repair rather than polishing. The fingernail test: if you can catch your nail in the scratch, it is likely too deep for polish alone to fully hide.
  • Pre-sale preparation: restore the paint appearance before selling a vehicle — removing swirl marks and surface scratches significantly improves first impressions and perceived value.
  • Annual maintenance polish: use once or twice a year as part of a maintenance routine to remove accumulated surface damage, restore gloss, and renew the protective wax layer.
  • Post-winter restoration: road salt, grit, and winter driving conditions accelerate surface damage and oxidation — a spring polish removes winter damage and reseals the paint before summer.
  • Spot treatment of scratches: apply to a specific scratched area rather than the full car, targeting car park damage, kerbing marks on bumpers, or isolated swirl-damaged panels.
  • Older or high-mileage vehicles: older paint with accumulated swirl marks and light oxidation shows the most noticeable improvement from polishing.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and frost — extreme temperatures (above 35°C or below 0°C) can affect product consistency.
  • Keep the lid tightly closed between uses to prevent the formula from drying out or skinning over in the container.
  • If the product thickens in cold storage, bring to room temperature before use — do not add water to thin it.
  • Wash applicator cloths after use — dried polish residue on a cloth will scratch paint on the next application.
