  • Extend the telescopic handle to the required length by releasing the locking collar on each section and pulling to the desired extension before re-tightening — for roof and bonnet work, extend to full length; for lower panels and windows, a shorter extension provides more control. Ensure each locking collar is tight before applying pressure to the head.
  • Pre-rinse the car with clean water before applying the mop — this removes loose grit and debris from the surface that would otherwise be dragged across the paint by the mop head, which is the most common cause of wash-induced swirl marks. A hose or pressure washer rinse before any contact washing is the single most effective step for protecting the finish.
  • Load the mop head with car shampoo solution by dipping it into a wash bucket — use a two-bucket method (one soap bucket, one rinse bucket) for best results. After each panel, rinse the head in the clean water bucket before reloading with soap to prevent dirty water and grit being carried back to the paint surface.
