A semi-automatic capsule espresso machine with a built-in milk frother — espresso, cappuccino, and latte at home without the complexity of a full manual machine. 01Capsule Compatible — Consistent Coffee Without the Mess

The KCF-CS1 uses coffee capsules rather than loose grounds — the format that eliminates grinding, dosing, tamping, and the cleanup that follows. Each capsule delivers a pre-measured, pre-ground dose that produces consistent extraction results cup after cup without the variables that manual preparation introduces. For households where the morning routine does not allow time for a full barista process, the capsule format produces café-quality espresso in the time it takes the machine to heat up and the capsule to brew.

02Semi-Automatic Control — More Than a Pod Machine

The semi-automatic operation gives the user control over the extraction that a fully automatic or single-button pod machine does not — the ability to start and stop the brew manually, which affects the strength, volume, and character of the shot. This is the middle ground between a fully automatic machine that makes every decision for you and a manual espresso machine that requires significant skill and practice to operate consistently. The KCF-CS1 produces a proper espresso shot with the control that coffee drinkers who care about the result want, without the learning curve of a full manual setup.

03Built-In Milk Frother — Cappuccino and Latte at Home

The integrated steam wand froths milk for cappuccinos and lattes without requiring a separate frother device — the capability that turns a single-purpose espresso machine into a machine that covers the full range of milk-based coffee drinks. The steam wand produces the textured, microfoam-style milk that sits on top of a cappuccino or blends into a latte, rather than the coarse bubble foam that a handheld electric frother produces. Having the frother built into the machine also means one device on the counter rather than two, and one cleaning routine rather than two.

04Sage Green Finish — A Countertop Statement

The sage green colourway is a deliberate departure from the black and silver finishes that dominate the espresso machine category — the colour that has become associated with premium kitchen aesthetics and that works with the cream, neutral, and warm-toned kitchen interiors that are currently dominant in home design. The KCF-CS1 is compact enough to sit on a standard kitchen counter without dominating the space, and distinctive enough to function as a considered design choice rather than a utilitarian appliance that is hidden when not in use.

In the Box1 × Konka KCF-CS1 Espresso Machine with Milk Frother
  • Fill the water tank to the indicated fill line before first use. Use filtered water if your tap water is hard to reduce limescale build-up in the boiler over time.
  • Run a blank cycle without a capsule first — allow the machine to heat up and run water through the group head to flush the system before brewing.
  • Insert a capsule into the capsule holder, close the lid, and position your cup beneath the spout. Start the extraction manually — the semi-automatic operation means you control when the shot starts and stops.
  • For espresso: extract until you have the volume you want, then stop. A standard espresso is approximately 25–30ml extracted over 25–30 seconds.
  • For cappuccino or latte: pull the shot first, then use the steam wand to froth your milk. Purge the steam wand with a brief burst of steam before and after frothing to keep it clean.
Allow the machine to reach full operating temperature before extracting — the first shot after a cold start may taste different from subsequent shots once the machine is fully warmed through.
  • Use cold milk straight from the refrigerator — cold milk froths better than milk at room temperature and gives more time to work the texture before it overheats.
  • Fill the frothing jug no more than halfway — milk expands significantly during frothing and an overfilled jug will overflow.
  • Submerge the steam wand tip just below the milk surface and angle the jug slightly to create a circular flow in the milk. This produces a smoother, more uniform texture than holding the wand stationary.
  • For cappuccino: froth until the milk is thick and holds a peak — the foam should be stiff enough to sit on top of the espresso without immediately sinking through it.
  • For latte: froth until the milk is warm and silky with fine bubbles rather than stiff foam — a texture that blends smoothly into the espresso rather than sitting on top.
  • Wipe the steam wand immediately after frothing with a damp cloth and purge briefly with steam to clear any milk residue from inside the wand.
  • Empty and rinse the drip tray regularly — allowing used water and coffee grounds to accumulate in the drip tray can lead to odour and mould over time.
  • Remove used capsules after each use. Most machines hold used capsules in an internal container — empty it when full rather than allowing it to overflow.
  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the sage green finish.
  • Descale the machine regularly, particularly in hard water areas. Limescale build-up in the boiler reduces performance and eventually damages the heating element. Use a descaling solution appropriate for espresso machines and follow the machine’s descaling cycle instructions.
  • Clean the group head and capsule holder periodically by running a hot water cycle without a capsule to flush through any coffee residue.
  • The KCF-CS1 is compatible with standard coffee capsules — verify the capsule format before purchase to ensure compatibility with the machine’s capsule holder.
  • A wide range of coffee capsules are available across different roast profiles, origins, and intensities — the capsule format makes it straightforward to switch between coffees without adjusting grind settings or doses.
  • Store capsules in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and strong odours. Capsules are individually sealed but the seal can degrade if stored in poor conditions.
  • Do not use damaged or swollen capsules — a capsule that has been compromised may not seal correctly in the holder and can cause extraction issues or leaks.
Always check that the capsule is correctly seated in the holder and the lid is fully closed before starting extraction. An incorrectly seated capsule can cause hot water or steam to escape from around the capsule rather than through it.
Capsule In. Espresso Out. Froth on Top.
