Headlight lenses yellow and cloud over time due to UV exposure and oxidation of the polycarbonate surface — a process that reduces the light output of the headlight and directly affects visibility at night. The repair fluid dissolves and removes this oxidised layer, restoring the transparency of the lens and the light transmission it was designed to provide. - Allow the repair fluid to dwell on the surface for the time specified in the product instructions, then buff off using a clean microfibre cloth. Repeat the application if the lens is heavily oxidised and requires a second pass.
- Once the lens is clear and the repair fluid has been removed, apply the Blue Ice coating using a clean applicator. Work in thin, even layers and allow each layer to cure before applying the next.
- Allow the coating to cure fully before exposing the vehicle to rain or washing — refer to the product instructions for the specific cure time.
- Restore: yellowing, cloudiness, oxidation, or hazing on the lens surface — these are surface conditions that the repair fluid is designed to address. Restoration is appropriate when the lens itself is intact and the issue is confined to the outer surface.
- Replace: cracked, chipped, or physically damaged lenses cannot be restored with a coating kit — structural damage requires replacement. Similarly, internal fogging caused by a broken seal between the lens and the headlight housing is an internal moisture issue that surface restoration will not resolve.

- EU Plug (Type C/F): the standard for continental Europe, including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and most other EU countries. Choose EU if you are using the kit in mainland Europe or any country that uses the two-pin round plug standard.
- US Plug (Type A): the standard for the United States, Canada, Mexico, and a number of countries in Central America, South America, and Asia. Choose US if you are using the kit in North America or a country that uses the two flat-pin plug standard.
- UK buyers: neither the EU nor US plug is compatible with UK sockets (Type G, three-pin). You will need a plug adapter to use this product in the UK. A Type C/F to Type G adapter is widely available and inexpensive.
